We have chosen to make this our dream home and to make memories here that only dreams are made of.

Our restoration work was made easier by working with a place so rich in incredibly preserved original details. Tiled floors, ancient wallpapers, decorated ceilings. Some rooms have recesses in the floor where prior residents used to store jars. Others have their own wells (no, you can’t open them). Look out for the recessed ghiacciaia, an ancient large icebox. And never stop marvelling at the bubuli-filled vaults.

A few hidden little gems for the inquisitive wanderers

A chapel devoted to the ‘Madonna del Carmelo’ features frescoes depicting figures wearing a ‘scapolare’, a traditional work apron which became a symbol of the Carmelitan devotion. Outside in the fields there is an aia, a piazza made of stone where farmers used to thresh their wheat at harvest which we have painstakingly restored. It’s an ideal square for celebrating, meditating, and savouring the breeze and light of Puglia.

In all our renovation work we have gone the extra mile to make our dreams come true. We lovingly preserved and restored all the original rooms in the villa, devoted vast amounts of space to communal enjoyment and dedicated the same amount of love to each room. From the splendid master bedroom, to the beautiful ball room, from our unique kitchen even to the laundry room!

When crafting the villa’s décor, we chose to work as much as possible with local artisans and artists, utilizing local materials. We filled the rooms with one-of-a-kind objects, designed directly by ourselves or in collaboration with artist friends. We also added the odd art piece from our travels.

Ok, this is not really hidden. But our 16-meter pool is stunning, set in a massive agricultural courtyard, called jazzo, just next to a wheat field, lawns and lovely kitchen gardens where one can aimlessly lose (or find!) oneself. Just around the corner you will find the shaded garden, our al fresco living room. The perfect place for relaxation.
